Day No.1: It is Time: Put Off the Old Self

(It is time) to put off your old self,[a] (22)which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, (24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

I am tired of living a shadow life. I know I am not of this world anymore than Christ was. When we accept Him as our Savior, we enter in His death and resurrection and it is no longer I that live but Christ in me (Galatians 2:20). That being the case, it's exhausting trying to be two people. One simply cannot *be* the old self and the new self (ie. one cannot serve two masters, you will hate the one and love the other (Matthew 6:24)). You have to choose: hot or cold, life or death. I choose life. 

This will be a season, a test if you will, to see if I can study, truly seek my Lord and who He was when He first walked the land in his earthly tent. The one who came to serve, not to be served. He is the visible likeness of the invisible God and I believe He came first as a servant sacrifice so that many might be saved. As a savior His desire is that none should be lost but all be saved. When He comes again, it will be for judgment and to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Having come first as a  passover lamb, we esteemed Him not. Coming again in holy power and authority, every knee will bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. And we He comes, we will be like Him and know Him and truly know ourselves- all in the twinkling of an eye.

For now we must seek Him while He might be found. We must pursue Him with all of our might and strength and heart, in the same way that He first pursued us. We will not be able to endure these evil times that have come and are increasing if we are not bound to Him and His loving heart. Because of the increase of wickedness the hearts of many will grow cold. So, cling with everything by the power and love of the Holy Spirit to the true vine and He will keep you from drying up and being saved for the fire. 

My prayer in these last days is that My love and knowledge of and for the Lord may increase and when people see me they say, "Look! There goes a little-Christ." I am tired and cannot do it in my own might but through Christ who strengthens me. 

The Lord tells us to be excellent in what is good and be innocent of evil. It is amazing how easy it is to go down a rabbit hole of all the bizarre, dark things that are going on in the world and how easy it is to continually bite from the Apple of the tree of knowledge. We think we devour it but truly it devours us. 

I do not want to be a hearer of the Word only (and so deceive myself) but a doer of what it/He says/is. He is the Word and in Him is light and life. 

The disciples spent time with Jesus and learned Him and studied with Him, breaking bread with Him and ministering together. They watched Jesus so they too could make disciples of all men.
