Do Not Fret

Be angry, yet do not sin; on your bed search your heart and be still (Psalm 4:4)

Be still before the Lord and wait in patience.
Do not fret at the man who prospers, a man who makes evil plots
to bring down the needy and the poor.

Calm your anger and forget your rage; do not fret, it only leads to evil.
For those who do evil perish; the patient shall inherit the land. (Psalm 37)

I woke up from a dream this morning right before I was supposed to get a prophetic word. Carol was in front of me in a group of women and we were all getting prayed for by a bunch of women that were prophesying over each one. We ran out of time for me and then the next scene was as at a wedding and I woke up to Sabine crying (she just woke up). The first part of the dream we were in France. I had to catch a flight but didn't want to miss the blessing so was running late. (It was a night flight).

As to today, this morning I've woken up achy and groggy (could be from the chiropractor, the sugar and cheese I "wasn't supposed to have" yesterday evening). Israel is on my heart and has been now for quite a few months. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem is key. Psalm 37 continually speaks of God's people dwelling in the land, being given the land.

It is interesting that Joshua, the precursor of Jesus was sent out as a spy to search out the land that God had promised to give them. And that the people of that land were seeking them to destroy them: "Before the spies fell asleep, Rahab came to them on the roof and said: "I know the Lord has given you the land, that a dread of you has come upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are overcome with fear of you"(Joshua 2:1- 24)

Is that not what had been happening to the Israelites throughout the ages? Especially now that God has given them back their land and it looks like He will return Jerusalem to them(us!) very soon. No wonder the world ("all the inhabitants of the land") are freaking out and wanting to make war against Israel as it has been prophesied over in the last days.

Back to the Jesus/Joshua comparison: it's as if Jesus came to "spy out the land" and He told his disciples He would return. But He came in secret so to speak, so much so that His own people did not recognize them only the outcasts (look at the relation between Rahab, a prostitute and Mary Magdalene for example?).  He explained His return would be glorious and military in nature and of course in His true identity as the King of Kings, ruler of all nations and all tribes; no wonder the spirit of this world trembles in its boots. Satan knows his time is near, very near.

Rahab's words, again prophetic towards Jesus: "Go up into the hill country, " she suggested to them; that your pursuers may not find you. Hide there for three days, until they return; then you may proceed on your Way." Jesus likewise went up to the hill to be crucified; He "hid" Himself, clothed in death for three days and those rose again, continuing on His way. Lastly, the men's sign to Rahab of protection was a scarlet cord hanging outside of the window as a type of Passover. When the angel of death came to Egypt, he passed over the Hebrew houses that had put the blood of the sacrificial lamb upon it. The scarlet cord symbolizes the blood again of the Messiah and His protection, the seal upon those that have it "should any of them pass outside the doors of your house, he will be responsible for his own death, and we shall be guiltless". I, like Rahab put the scarlet cord outside of my window and ask that you keep all of those who are in it; those saved and unsaved and remember your Word to your children; the promises you keep for your Name's sake.

Amen.
