Daily Bread
Lord, forgive me my sinfulness and the confusion that surrounds my brain. I read this morning about St. Agatha of Sicily and how she suffered awfully for your sake. Why is there such evil in the world? Although I know Your answer it still makes me wonder when You are coming back. You are long-suffering towards us, not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) You are so much kinder than I. I confess my wicked impatience with myself and with others. "Love is patient, love is kind... it is not easily angered..it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..." (1 Cor. 13:4-8).
And now I think about upcoming Lent in just nine days and want to meditate on Your will and be obedient. "Jesus explained, 'My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work."
(John 4:34-35). He then continues to say that the fields are white unto the harvest and for us to pray to the Lord to send more workers in the field.
